FY 2023 Head Start State Supplemental grant has been awarded to providers in our district

The Department of Early Education and Care announced a FY 2023 Head Start State Supplemental Grant has been awarded to a providers in our district.


The priorities and goals of the FY 2023 Massachusetts Head Start State Supplemental Grant are to fund workforce development supports and enhance program quality of all Head Start and Early Head Start programs. The FY 2023 Massachusetts Head Start State Supplemental Grant funds will be used to support staff’s salaries, compensation, and benefits to address recruitment and retention of Head Start and Early Head staff. Along with workforce development supports, these grant funds will provide direct support to Head Start and Early Head Start programs to provide high quality comprehensive services that may include coaches, mental health consultants and additional teaching staff to provide lower staff/child ratios. These grant funds also provide direct support for Head Start and Early Head Start grantees to assist them in meeting their 20% non-Federal matching funds requirement.
